Inscription commemorating Captain Alexander Hood on the South face of the memorial over the vault, his father in law, mother in law and his wife are commemorated on the North face as is Admiral Lord Hood of Avalon, Captain Alexander's son Sir Alexander Hood Bt. is on the East face of the tomb.
