A. GARDINER, R.N., IN HIS ENDEAVOUR / TO TAKE THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST TO THE INHABITANTS OF / TERRA-DEL-FUEGO, IN THE YEAR A.D. 1850. ONE BY ONE THEY ALL / PERISHED FROM WANT AND EXPOSURE. ALSO GRACE DAVY WIFE OF THE ABOVE WHO DIED 5TH JUNE 1839 AGED 75. THEY WERE INTERRED AT ST MARY'S CLYST AND THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED BY THEIR YOUNGEST SON FRANCIS RESIDING AT RIVERSMEET IN THIS PARISH WHO DIED 10TH SEPTEMBER 1896 AGED 86 YEARS.
