'In Memory / of Admiral Chamberlayne / of the family Chamberlayne formerly Tankerville long settled at Maugersbury in this Parish / and of his sons all now waiting for a blessed / resurrection through the merits and mercies of Jesus Christ. / Admiral Chamberlayne after long and arduous services to / King and Country died in the bosom of his family / at Plymouth April 24 1810. / George the Eldest son of the Admiral died in November / 1802 aged 22 a captain in command H.M. Sloop Busy in the / West Indies. Charles died in March 1799 aged 16 on his return from / Sea a Naval Officer in the Service of his Country, Edwin / died in December 1821 aged 37 a Post Captain in his / Majesty's Navy and a companion of the most honourable / order of the Bath, Bickerton died in April 1822 Aged 30 a / Lieut. in His Majesty's 12 Regiment of foot. Each / to their several stations having done honour / to the ancient and honourable name / they bore verily their Motto / Virtu Nihil Invium'

'In Memory of / Admiral Sir Thomas Pasley, Baronet / Born at Craig, Dumfriesshire; died at Chilland / in this Parish and was buried in this church / AD 1808 / After long and distinguished services he commanded a / division of Lord Howe's Fleet in the victory over the / French Fleet May 29th and June 1st 1794, having his / flag in H.M.S. Bellerophon, in which battle he was / severely wounded, losing a leg. For his services he was / created a Baronet and after holding the command of / Port Admiral at Plymouth 1799-1801, retired to Chilland Cottage, where he died. / This brass is erected to his memory / by his grandson / Admiral Sir Thomas Sabine Pasley / Baronet K.C.B. [etc. etc.] 1879'
