'I am sure that my redeemer liveth and that I shall ryse out of ye earth in ye latter daye that I shall be clothed againe with this skinne and see God in my fleshe yea I myself shall behold Him not wt other but wt these same eyes. Flos mercantorum quos terra Britana creavit. Ecce, sub hoc tumulo Gulielmus Bondus humatur. Ille mari multum passus per saxa per undas ditavit patrias peregrinis mercibus oras. Magnanimum Graeci mirantur Iasona vales aurea de gelido retulit quia vellera Phasi. Graecia docta tace Graii concedite vates: hic iacet argolico mercator Iasone maior. Vellera multa tulit magis aurea vallere Phryxi. Et freta multa scidit magis ardua Phasidos undis. Hei mihi quod nullo mors est superabilis auro flos mercantorum Guelielmus Bondus humatur. Heere lieth the bodie of Will'm Bonde Alderman somtime Shreve of London a marchant adventurer most famous in his age for his great adventures bothe by sea and lande obiit 30 May 1576'
