'In / Loving Memory of / JOHN AVERY / WHO LOST HIS LIFE IN HMS CAPTAIN ON THE / 7TH OF SEPTEMBER 1870. / AGED 33 YEARS. / THY WILL BE DONE. / ALSO JANE HAM, WIFE OF THE ABOVE / WHO DIED JUNE 11TH 1919 / AGED 84 YEARS / FOR EVER WITH THE LORD / ALSO / EMILY JANE, DAUGHTER OF THE ABOVE / WHO DIED MAY 1924... / AGED 54 YEARS / IN THE MIDST OF LIFE WE ARE IN DEATH.'
