'In / loving memory / of/ William James Ropke / Master Mariner / the dearly beloved husband of / Emily Ropke / who died Feb 14th 1918 / aged 62 years / When alone in my sorrow the tears begin to flow / There comes as a dream the sweet long ago / Unknown to the world he stands by my side / And whispers "Dear wife death cannot divide. / Also of Emily / dearly loved wife of the above / who died Jan 5th 1926 / aged 70 years her end was peace.'
