'To the Memory of / CAPTAIN JOSEPH FAYRER of Milnthorpe, who died / at Cape Coast Castle, on the coast of Africa Jan. 11th 1801, aged 55. / Also of BRIDGET his Wife, who died March 14th 1807, Aged 52 / Also of EDWARD BIRBECK FAYRER their third Son, / A Midshipman of the Royal Navy, who died in the / Service of his Country being one of the unfortunate / Crew of H.M.S. Defence, lost in a Storm off the / entrance of the Baltic Dec. 23rd 1811, Aged 21 / This stone is erected to the Memory of his deceased / Parents and Brother, by R. I. Fayrer / Lieutenant of the R.N.'

Description: Black limestone rectangular slab with feet, on a granite mount with plain feet, a pediment-shaped top. The black inscription tablet has a shelf above and is surmounted by an urn in relief.
