'Sacred to the memory of / my beloved husband / John Houston / who died April 14th 1904 / in his 72nd year / Also of our children / Albert Edward / Lost at sea through the foundering / of the SS 'Saint Columba' Jany 1883 / Aged 20 / And Ellen Elizabeth / Interred at Stockton-On-Tees Sept 1879 / Aged 14 years / Also of Jane beloved wife of the above / who died April 3rd 1907 / in her 71st year / Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord / Also Margaret Jane / beloved daughter of the above / died 14th February 1936 / Aged 75 years'
