'..Erected to the memory of Thomas son of James & Mary Hodgson who died at Mangaraut on the West coast of Africa Oct 1843 aged 26 years. Died in Cavendish Street 14 July 1851 after a long and painful illness, May the beloved wife of Capt. James HODSON R.N. and mother of the above aged 71 years. Died in Cavendish Street, 24 March 1852, JAMES HODGSON retired Commander Royal Navy, aged 58 years. Mary Hodgson daughter of the above named, died in Cavendish Street, July 7th 1871 aged 65 years. Elizabeth HODGSON 2nd daughter of the above died in Cavendish Street, Dec. 26th 1877, aged 64 years. Anne HODGSON daughter of the above died in Cavendish Street, Jan 14th 1890 aged 74 years.'
