'Sacred to the Memory of Mr. Robert Atkins, / late Branch Pilot of the H.C.M. who departed / this life April the 13th 1813, aged 51 years. / Also six of his infant children that lays near / this spot. Afflictions sore long time he bore, / Physicians strove in vain, God did please that / death should come and ease him of his pain.'
