Transcript

'Here lies the body of JOSEPH POWNEY, 15th April 1725, aged 2 years and 5 months; likewise his eldest brother GEORGE POWNEY 18 December 1732, aged 25 years and five days; likewise JAMES POWNEY, born the 30th June 1734 and died the 6th July following; Here lieth interred the body of MARY GOODWIN, wife of CORNELIUS GOODWIN, and one of the daughters of Captain John Powney, who departed this life the 10th November 1742, aged 23 years and 7 months; Here lieth the body of CAPTAIN GEORGE HERON, born in July 1646, and departed this life the 2nd May 1727 in the 81st year of his age, then a sojourner in India, 61 years: likewise the body of Captain JOHN POWNEY, 10th September 1740, aged 57 years, at whose charge this tomb is erected.'
