'In affectionate Remembrance of Capt. JOHN BUTEL who departed this life on the Barquentine 'Glenville' on Dec. 18th 1901 whilst on a voyage from Paspebiac to Santos age 59 years. Rocks and storms I fear no more, when on that eternal shore. Drop the anchor, furl the sail, I am safe within the vale'. And also of his widow ELIZABETH A BISSON who died on April 6th 1927 in her 87th year. 'I have fought the good fight; I have finished my course' both deeply regretted.'
