'Neare this place lyeth / the body of Richard Holford Esqr. Eldest son / of Sr. Richard Holford of Lincolns Inn in / Com. Middx. Kt. Who having spent about / Tenn years in the service of King Wm. Ye / 3d of glorious memory and of her present / Majestie in the Navy Royall departed this / life the 16th day of Septmr. 1703, aged 28 / yeares & 7 months / Also the body of Stainer Holford son of the / Sd. Richards Holford Esq. and Anna his wife / who departed this life the 17th day of March / 1701 aged one year & 3 months. / This Monument placed here by ye / Sd. Anna ye disconsolate widow / in Memory of her late deare / husband and Sonn.'
