'In sacred memory of E.J. ALEXANDER SHAW, / Bengal Pilot Service, and late cadet H.M.S. / 'Worcester' who was drowned off No.1 / Refuge-house, Sunderbunds, 3rd May 1889, / aged 25 years. This tablet is erected as a mark of deep respect by his brother officers.'

Description: Wall tablet supported by three small granite columns, one symbolically broken carrying a cornice above which is a small marble panel carved with a capstan and anchor; to the right a gunboat and to the left a ship and a lighthouse.
