'To the Memory of / Alexander Barker, / only son of George and Deborah Barker, / Late of this village; / who died at Totley VIII February MDCCCXXII / aged LXXVII years. / And of / Elizabeth his wife. / Daughter of William and Deborah Bossley, / of Bakewell; / who died XXVII May MDCCCXVI, aged LXVI. / Also of / Deborah, Elizabeth, Sarah, James, and / Elizabeth, their children; / who died of tender age. / Also of / Caleb their eldest son, / who died XXIV July MDCCCXIV, aged XLII./ And also of / George Alexander their third son,/ a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy,/ on board the Swiftsure in the battle of/ Trafalgar; / who died at Chesterfield VI December / MDCCCXVI, aged XXXI. / All were interred in this churchyard / except Elizabeth their second daughter, / who died and was buried at Chesterfield.'
