'Here lyeth ye body of Richard / Fogg Esq. descended of the / Ancient family of Foggs of / this County he faithfully sarued / King Charles First as Captaine / of Seurall of his men of ware /at sea afterward he retired / himselfe to a private life in this / Parish; & attained unto ye eighty / fifth yeare of his age; deceased / ye 15th day of August / in ye yeare of our lord one / Thousand six Hundred / eighty one.'
