Notes: 'La Plata' of London was under charter by Siemens Brothers to repair telegraph cable and bound from Gravesend for Rio Grande. She foundered off Ushant on 29 November 1874. 15 survivors in a boat were picked up by 'Gareloch' of Glasgow next day.
