'Erected by MARY BEATTIE in memory of her husband JAMES SPINK, fisherman who died 13th Oct 1845 aged 44 years and two of their children JAMES and JEAN who died in infancy and JANE who died 19th April 1864 aged 20 years. The above MARY BEATTIE died 7th May 1894 aged 54 years. JANE CARGILL wife of DAVID SPINK died at Auchmithie 16th Oct 1916 aged 76 years, the above DAVID SPINK died 18th Feb 1919 aged 80 years.'
