Details

Description: Full-length bronze statue of Flinders in Royal Naval full-dress uniform, a sword hanging at his left hip, and a telescope in his right hand. At Flinder's feet are a sextant, books and maps. Pedestal of Murray Bridge red granite. Inscription on one face. Two brass plaques on the faces flanking the inscription show a map of Australia and of South Australia. Flinders was a cartographer and navigator who circumnavigated Australia. Statue unveiled 12th April, 1934.
