'IN A VAULT BENEATH / THIS CHURCH ARE DEPOSITED THE REMAINS OF / SAMUEL ENDERBY ESQR. / OF CROOMS HILL HOUSE, IN THIS PARISH / WHO DIED OCTOBER 14TH 1829, AGED 74 / ALSO OF / MARY HIS WIFE / WHO DIED AT OLD CHARLTON / FEBRUARY 25TH 1846 AGED 79 / THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY / THEIR FAMILY AS A TOKEN OF / LOVE, ESTEEM AND RESPECT.'
