Notes: Major Ernle Terrick Dudley Ryder boarded SS 'Ban Ho Guan' following the fall of Singapore. The vessel foundered en route to Australia in February 1942, presumed sunk by Japanese submarine. Robert Edward Dudley Ryder was awarded the Victoria Cross for his part in the St Nazaire Raid and died on a sailing holiday on the yacht 'Watchdog'. His ashes are buried in Oxford.
