'IN HOPE / of / a joyful Resurrection Beneath this stone lie interred / all that was mortal of / ERASMUS GRIFFITH / youngest Son of ERASMUS and MARY GRIFFITH / Born 1st March 1806 / Died 13th June 1848 / BENEATH / lie the remains of ERASMUS GRIFFITH / Mariner / and ANN his wife She died April 16 1776 / Aged 38 years / He died / Feby 18th 1782 Aged 46 Years / Also ROBERT the son of the above named who died Feby 18th 1818 Aged 18 / and was buried at / St Olave's Flemish Ground / London'
