'This stone was erected by / Andrew Higgen Master Mariner / and Ship owner in Kincardine / in memory of his Son ANDREW HIGGEN Aged 19 years / ROBERT NICOL his Nephew Aged ... / years both Mariners belonging to the / Sloop Vine of Kincardine who / unfortunately lost their lives by the / above Vessels Boat upsetting under /... / near this place on the 6th Novr 1810 / They were both interred here in one grave / They were friendly in life and / in their deaths were not divided.'
