'Here lyeth the Body of / RICHARD LE NEVE Esquire / who after severall engagements / for his Majesties service wherein / hee behav'd himself with honor / & applause, being appointed / Commander of his Majesties / ship the Edgar, was vnfort / nately Kill'd in the flower of / his age, being but 27 yeares / old, after hee had signalised / his valour to admiration in / that sharp engagement with / the Hollanders which happen’d / on 11th of August 1673'
