VICTORIA / OFF THE COAST OF SYRIA WHEN 22 OFFICERS / AND 336 MEN PERISHED / The sorrows of death compassed me. / In my distress, I cried unto my GOD / and my cry came before HIM / HE sent from above HE took me / HE drew me out of many waters / THIS TABLET IS INSCRIBED BY HIS BEREAVED PARENTS'
