'THE WINDOWS IN THIS CHANCEL / WERE FILLED WITH STAINED GLASS, IN THE YEAR 1859, / BY THE REVD WM NORRIS, M.A. RECTOR OF THIS CHURCH, / IN MEMORY OF HIS WIFE EMILY, DAUGHTER OF CHARLES SHORT ESQR / OF WOODLANDS, IN THIS PARISH. / WHO DIED, IN HUMBLE ASSURANCE OF FAITH, / ON THE 5TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1859, AGED 66 YEARS; / AND, ALSO, OF HIS SON WILLIAM THOMAS, / WHO WAS LOST IN THE AUSTRALASIAN SEAS, IN JULY 1856, AGED 26 YEARS. / HE EMBARKED ON BOARD THE WYVERN, / WHICH SAILED FROM NELSON, IN NEW ZEALAND, FOR SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES, / ON THE 1ST JULY 1856, / AND WAS NEVER HEARD OF MORE. / "THE LORD GAVE, AND THE LORD HATH TAKEN AWAY; / BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD."
