'Erected in affectionate remembrance of Elizabeth M A Farr, wife of Captain James Farr, who died 5th December 1890, aged 49 years. Also WILLIAM, their youngest son, Captain of the S.S. 'SPEKE HALL' who was drowned by the foundering of his ship in a cyclone in the Gulf of Aden, 3rd June 1885, aged 46 years'
