'In this Vault lieth the Body of RICHARD / STACEY Esqr. late Master Shipwright / of his Maj'tys: Yard at Deptford in Kent / who was a most tender husband & Parent / Sincere friend. Skilfull diligent / uncorrupt in his employments, Charitable / as became a Christian, diffusive without /partiality, without ostentation those / vertues had ye present reward of esteem from mankind, an unusual health & length / of days from Providence, and are now / crown'd with immortality. / He died the 16th of June 1743 in the 80th / Year of his Age...'
