'IN the Church Yard near / these hallowed walls, lie buried the remains of / WILLIAM STEWART, Esquire, / a Captain of the Royal Navy / who died in the Command of / His Majesty's Ship San Josef / on the 24th Day of July 1814 / Aged 39 Years / To the Memory of / a brave and accomplished Seaman / in whose Character the brightest Military virtues, / were blended with the rarest moral excellence. / This Tablet is dedicated / by an affectionate Brother'
