'Sacred to the Memory / of / WILLIAM GLANVILLE BOSCAWEN / Second Son of Admiral Boscawen (And Francis Glanville his Wife) / Who / Having early dedicated himself / To the Service of his Country / After the Example of his Father: / Was made a Lieutenant of the British Navy / In his eighteenth Year: / And promised to be one of it's brightest Ornaments. / But alas! / Death cut off these Hopes;/ And he was unfortunately drown'd, / As he was taking the Exercise of Swimming, / On the 21st Day of April 1769 / In the Island of Jamaica / His disconsolate Mother thus commemorates / Her lost Treasure, / And Places this Urn, tho the Ashes are denied'
