‘Here / Lyeth the body of John / Mockress of this parish Mar / iner, who departed this life / the fifteenth day of Decr / 1739 Aged 59 Years. / Here also lieth the Body of / John Mockress Mariner / Son to the above who De / parted this life the Sixth day of May 1759 Aged 42 Years / Also here lieth the Body / of Mary Relict of ye above / Jn. Mockress, and late Wife / of Rd. Burt, who Died the / 30th of August 1788 / Above 60 Years I lived here / Before my Glass was Past / Then left this life in hope ye Christ / Will rise me at the last. / Here also lieth the body of ye above / Richd Burt who departed this life / the 16th day of April 1805 / Aged 79 Years.’
