'To the memory of Ebenezer SCOTT, M.D., Surgeon of H.M.S. 'Cornwallis', who died of fever at Port Royal, December 30th. 1838. This tablet is erected as a small tribute of esteem and respect according to the wish of his Commander in Chief, Vice Admiral The Honourable Sir Charles Paget, G.C.H., who was destined within one month to follow his lamented friend to the grave cut off by the same fatal disorder. Requiescat in pace'
