Notes: Mr G.H. Shephard, Chief Officer of Coastguard, Pendeen died of injuries following a fall on a cliff. The men of the coastguard station and other local people were attempting to assist the crew of the steamer 'Oria' aground at Pendeen Cove. She was eventually refloated.
