'In affectionate remembrance of John the beloved and only son of John and Margaret Davies, Fronwig, New Quay, who died and was buried at sea Lat 3 0' North, Long 10 0' West on the 12 May 1866 in the 25th year of his age. Also to the memory of John Davies, Fronwig, New Quay, (Master Mariner) who died Nov 11 A.D. 1870 aged 67 years. And of his beloved wife Margaret Davies who died Oct 26 1873 aged 72 years'
