'Erected by officers and men of H.M.S. 'Linnet' to the memory of George Edward PARKS, who was drowned at Hong Kong May 7th 1899 aged 19 years. Also to Samuel CONNELL who died suddenly at Korsikof, September 28th 1899 aged 21 years. Also to George WHITELOCK who died suddenly at sea on November 24th 1899 aged 42 years. Gone but not forgotten.'
