'William, third son of John James Bedingfield and Sarah his wife, Born 31 Decenber 1805, who whilst serving as a Midshipman in His M.S. Hind lost his life by the upsetting of a Boat in the Scio Channel on 27 April 1823. His body was found May 7th and interred in the Garden of the English consul at Scio'
