'Near this Place are deposited the remains of James Bradby Esq. Rear Admiral of his Majesty's Navy, who departed this life on the 3rd of August 1809, aged 72 years. Also Mary, wife of the above Rear Admiral Bradby who died on the 20th of April 1808 aged 63 yrs. Also Matthew Barton Bradby Esq their son Captain in the Royal Navy who was unfortunately drowned on the 5th May 1831 aged 51 yrs. Catherine H Bradby widow of the above died June 17th 1873 aged 89 years'
