'Within are deposited the remains / of Lieutenant Thomas Lynne, Royal Navy / who departed this life the 19th April 1826 / Also of Mary his beloved wife / who died 23 July 1816 / Their two surviving children place / this tablet to their sincerest gratitude / and most devoted affection to two of the best parents'
