'This stone was erected by the ship's company of H.M.S. Penelope in affectionate remembrance of James Rawlins, A.B., who was accidentally killed, April 14th 1882 aged 23 years. Stop, stranger, stop and drop a tear he braved the angry wave / Tread lightly o'er this sacred spot / For 'tis a Sailor's Grave'
