‘Sacred / TO THE MEMORY OF / NICHOLAS TOMLINSON ESQ. / VICE-ADMIRAL OF THE WHITE / WHO DIED MARCH 6TH 1847 / AGED 82 YEARS / FOR SEVENTY YEARS AN OFFICER / IN THE ROYAL NAVY, / GREAT PART WHEREOF INCLUDED A PERIOD / MOST EVENTFUL IN THE ANNALS OF THIS COUNTRY / HE SERVED IT / WITH THE COURAGE, FIDELITY AND ZEAL, / OF ONE WHOSE HEART WAS / IN HIS WORK. / ALSO OF ELIZABETH, / DAUGHTER AND COHEIRESS OF RALPH WARD ESQ. / OF WIMPOLE STREET, LONDON, / AND OF FOXBURROWS, IN THE ADJOINING PARISH / WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE, / 19TH JULY 1839 / AGED 74 YEARS / THEIR REMAINS ARE DEPOSITED IN AN ADJOINING VAULT / IN THIS CHURCHYARD / Whatever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.
