'Commander Philip Nithsdale Wright RN Born 3rd Feb 1871, Died 27 June 1901 in consequence of a wound received on the 19th June 1900 during the siege of TIENTSIN China. To his organisation of the whole defence and to his exertions the safety of the town was largely due. Erected by his sorrowing father. "Father in the gracious keeping, Leave we now thy servant sleeping"'
