'SACRED / TO THE MEMORY OF / SIR GEORGE MURRAY, / KNIGHT COMMANDER OF THE MOST HONOURABLE / MILITARY ORDER OF THE BATH, / AND / VICE ADMIRAL OF THE RED / WHO DIED THE 28TH DAY OF FEBRUARY 1819 / AGED 59 YEARS. / HIS VIRTUES NEED NOT BE RECORDED HERE: THEY / ARE ENGRAVEN ON THE HEARTS OF ALL WHO KNEW HIM. / ALSO OF ANN, RELICT OF THE ABOVE / WHO DIED THE 28TH DAY OF MARCH 1859 / IN THE 96TH YEAR OF HER AGE' [below] 'COPENHAGEN: 2 APRIL, 1801.'

Description: The monument includes a bas relief of the battle of Copenhagen 1801 on the base. The inscription on an altar-shaped tablet with acroteria above. An urn in relief is placed on the top. The arms of the Murray family with the motto 'VIRTUTE FIDEQUE' below.
