'In ever loving memory of Ian Granville Sharp Lieutenant Royal Marines. Beloved eldest son of Douglas and Katherine Granville Sharp of Southsea and grandson of Utten James Easson vicar of this parish 1903 to 1940. He died on active service in Ceylon on June 10th 1943 aged 23 years. The Lord lift up the light of his countenance upon him and give him peace'
