'William Palmer, Esquire, Late of this Parish, where he was born on 29th Jan'y 1734 and died on 6th Sept. 1824 in the 90th year of his age. He was a Director of the Royal Hospital at Greenwich and upwards of thirty years one of His Majesty's Commissioners of the Navy. His affectionate children William, Catherine and Thomas Palmer inscribe this marble to his memory'
