Formidable was sunk in the / channel by an enemy submarine on January 1st 1915 / Aged 33 years / he was the dearly loved husband of Constance Street / Eldest son of Henry William and Barbara Street / and grandson of Henry Street Esq., late of Birley in this Parish / Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down / his life for his friends'
