COMMANDING H.M.S.'LEE' / WHO WAS KILLED BY A FALL FROM THE BRIDGE / WHILE COMING TO ANCHOR OFF THIS ISLAND / NOVEMBER 2nd 1865 AGED 26 YEARS / ALSO MR PETERS ASSISTANT ENGINEER / WHO DIED AT SEA JANUARY 5th 1863 AGED 27 / ALSO GEORGE LEE STOKER / WHO DIED IN THIS ISLAND, 20th MAY AGED 42 YEARS / STEPHEN AMBER, GUNNER R.M.A. / WHO DIED AT SEA, 21st OCTOBER 1865 AGED 29 YEARS / THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED BY THEIR SHIPMATES, AND MANY NAVAL FRIENDS OF LIEUT.
