Notes: Erected 1924. Burial place of the seamen from the 'Caledonia' wrecked in 1842 and others including the captain of 'Alonzo' of Stockton. Originally the place was marked by three upturned keels and oars arranged in a cross. These are now gone though 'Caledonia's' figurehead remains. The figurehead is depicted in the Hawker memorial window, in the church. Bibliography: E.W.F.
