'Charles Biddulph, Esq., Captain of H.M. ship Volage. Having after a life spent in the service of his King and country, just attained the rank of Post Captain, he fell a martyr to a pulmonary complaint caught in the execution of his duty at the early age of 28, and has left his country to deplore the loss of a most active, zealous and excellent officer and his relations and friends a most benevolent, truly upright and honourable man.
