'Here Lyeth the Body of / Mr. THOMAS JERMYN / A Hopefull Youth, the onely, and most dearly beloved / Sonne of THOMAS Lord JERMYN, and MARY / his wife who most unfortunately lost his life / by the accidental fall of a Mast, on the 27th day / of December 1692: a day never to be forgotten / by his unhappy Father and Mother. / He was aged 15. Years and 26. Days.'

Description: Architectural monument surmounted by a broken pediment. A coat of arms on a decorated cartouche is placed in the pediment. Below the arms within the typanum is a winged cherub's head on a black block, surrounded by gilded, foliate decoration. Below the tympanum is a white, double-stepped cornice supported by composite black columns with white gilded capitals. The inscription is on white marble. the effigy rests on a tomb chest decorated with lion's heads holding rings. The effigy lies on its left side with the elbow on a cushion and the right hand on a skull. It wears a full-length loose coat, waistcoat and breeches over a shirt with frilled cuffs and jabot.
