'THIS TABLET / HAS BEEN PLACED HERE BY THE DESIRE / OF A BROTHER OFFICER TO THE MEMORY OF / COMMANDER GEORGE HARPER RN / WHOSE REMAINS LIE INTERRED IN THE / PROTESTANT CEMETERY OF PERA DE CONSTANTINOPLE / HE DIED WITH THE RANK OF MIR ALLAL (CAPTAIN OF A LINE OF BATTLE SHIP) IN / THE SERVICE OF SULTAN ABDUL MEDJID THE SOVEREIGN OF TURKEY / NOVEMBER THE 2ND 1850 AGED 37. / HIS DEATH WAS FELT BY ALL WHO KNEW HIS PROFESSIONAL / MERITS AND NOBLE CHARACTER AS A LOSS TO BOTH THE / ENGLISH AND TURKISH SERVICES.'

'To the memory of GILBERT LAIRD, Master Mariner, born 14 January 1844 at St. Margaret's Hope Orkney Scotland. Died 25th March 1879 on board the 'Jeanie Louttit' and is interred here. The barque was used on 29 March 1879 to bury the Master. She belonged to Mr. D. Louttit of Wick, Caithness'

Sacred to the memory of David Newton, in his youth a Royal Marine who fought in the ship Revenge at the Battle of Trafalgar. In his old age a faithful soldier and servant of Jesus Christ. He departed this life 31 July 1878 in his 99th year, changing an earthly pension fr a crown of glory that fadeth not away. ' Well done good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the joy of the Lord'.
